Because of you students are properly equipped and engaged and are paying forward their gratitude in volunteer service. Together we are building stronger students, stronger schools, and stronger communities.
Twenty-five of our members helped weed and plant gardens, helped with lawn maintenance and spent time with the elderly as aids. The team enjoyed bonding with the ederly and making new friends. We are proud to have logged six hours of service as a THANKS for all that Support My Club has done for our team.
We made food for the children and parents at the Ronald McDonald house. The Ronald McDonald House gives families with children who are sick a place to call home. Our service was impactful because many of the families are unable to cook dinner on a regular basis, so we took some of the every day stress off of their plates. It was a great experience because we learned that giving back to other people is a great way to gain perspective.
Our school had a "Reading is Fun" Dr. Seuss themed night for elementary school students. Our baseball players helped with the games and stations, and found that working with younger kids was rewarding! Our team taught them that reading can be fun!
Feed My Starving Children is an organization that creates and packages supplemented food for children in struggling countries. Stugo members were divided into groups. Some worked with labeling packaging, others refilled the rice and protein meal to fill the bags. Another group filled and packed the bags and boxes, and yet another taped and weighed the boxes for shipping. It was a great experience for all and they are looking forward to participating again next year.
