Organization: Trevor G. Browne High School
WHAT:Colonial Williamsburg provides these realistic, hands-on materials that can be used over multiple class periods and with multiple teachers in addition to after-school club activities.
Our Specific Selection is the "Slave's Bag Kit"
"Eighteenth-century slaves often carried their personal belongings in a bag or basket. This simple drawstring fabric bag contains a bill of sale, oyster shell, flint and steel, wooden spoon, pewter button, piece of chain, feather quill, pair of stockings, and a teacher guide."
will help students learn more about slavery by giving them hands-on materials that will bring to life the experience of Africans in America during the colonial era.
