Organization: Metro Tech High School
WHAT:Pizza package from Metro-Tech Culinary department for 55 students and 5 staff
WHY:Our ASL second year students host a Peer to Peer Partnership kickoff event each year with the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf students who attend our CTE programs for two hours each day. After the kick off activity the second year ASL students then meet each week with the Phoenix Day School for the Deaf students at their CTE class here on our campus for 15 min to chat in ASL (without any interpreters) making that teen to teen peer to peer the old "Hey what's up connection" that is so important in today's world. Through the once a week meeting students build strong friendships and improve their ASL skills. "I'm still friends with students I meet over the Peer to Peer Partnership we did on Fridays. So many great friendships and connections" -2013 MTHS graduate and ASL student.Your kind sponsorship of this activity will help us to be able to continue to bring these two group of students together in a learning Peer to Peer Partnership.
