Wolves robotics offers high school students the opportunity to participate in an after school STEM club focusing on building robots for First Tech competitions (FTC). We are a self-funded club with mentors that volunteer their time. All parts, registration fees, and tools are purchased by funds raised by the students, tax credit donations and some sponsorship. We have two teams as student interest in the club has grown, which is great, but that means double expenses. We have had great success in the few years that we have been a program. The "varsity" team has won the state championship and progressed to the World Championship. While the "JV" team has advanced to the state tournament each season. We have also reached out to the elementary schools in our district to start a junior robotics club and we mentor those students in FLL. We participate in community service by volunteering to usher at PIR/NASCAR and we clean a road in our city through the Adopt-a-Road program. The students that participate in this club learn valuable life skills such as teamwork, design, build (and rebuild), ingenuity, documentation of work (engineering manual), and community service. Our motto is: "It's nobody's fault and it's everybody's problem!". With that as our attitude we have fun and work together as a team to build successful robots!
Recently, we were selected to represent Arizona as one of 50 teams from around the world to participate in the Asia Pacific Invitational in Sydney, Australia in July 2016. We were very excited and honored to have this opportunity to represent Arizona as well as the United States at this international competition. This was our first competition outside of the US and our first international experience.
We have dedicated numerous hours to designing, building, testing, re-building, programming and many other tasks to make our robots extraordinary! STEM education in public schools is so important for helping our students learn how to think, create and design. We would be extremely grateful for your donation to our team!
We appreciate any support and thank you!
