Associated Students of Metro Tech High School - Metro Tech High

Student Government has grown from 18 to 46 students from all class levels this year. We have both student body officers and class officers and representatives. Our school is new to the Arizona Interscholastic Association and the demands on our growing student government members are both enormous and exciting! For the first time in Metro Tech history, we won four awards at Arizona Association of Student Councils State Conference: a lip sync conference which earned us one scholarship to a Regional Student Council conference this summer, a Gold Level Award for Charitable Donation, a Platinum Level Award for Community Service hours we served at St. Vincent de Paul and lastly an Honorable Mention for Council of Distinction. We had to date in 20+ years never won an award at the State Level. This next Wednesday, we are hosting our Phoenix Union High School District Conference. 700 students will be in attendance, in addition to our council members. We have 4 guest speakers coming to teach leadership curriculum. Our theme is Roaring into Leadership and we are making decorations to cover the whole school and have used all our resources in addition to other departments' supplies. Paint, paper, paintbrushes, tape, scissors, staplers, colored printer and cartridges are in short supply. We would appreciate any help you can provide as fundraising only goes so far. Thank you for your consideration.
