The cross country team meets every day of the week to train for a 3.1 mile sprint race. We train in the rain or the heat, running various mountains around the valley, sprints on the track, tempo runs up to 10 miles, or isometric exercises to strengthen the core. Not only does cross country create the toughest physical atheletes, it creates the toughest mental athletes as well. This mental strength will carry through to all other aspects of their lives, teaching them to persevere when things get rough. Cross country is a sport often used to condition for other sports which are played in the winter or spring.
