Best Buddies is a large non-profit world organization that’s dedicated to ending social, physical, and economic isolation for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Metro Tech has been a chapter of Best Buddies since 2010. Having Best Buddies on Metro Tech’s campus has really shown effective with closing the social gap.
Metro Tech’s Chapter of Best Buddies wants to continue growing and building on the foundation which has been strengthened since 2010 by continuing to educate our Best Buddies Officers.
The goal for this school year is to send each of the officer’s (six in total) to Best Buddies Leadership Conference in Indiana the summer of 2018.
Metro Tech’s Best Buddies has partnered with St. Mary’s to give back to their community once a month by distributing bread once a month at Metro Tech High School. The students are very committed to this outreach and helping their neighbors. This is also a great opportunity for the buddies to spend time together.
Metro Tech Chapter of Best Buddies primary goal is to close the social gap on our campus. The hope is that friendships (buddies) are developed to last beyond high school years.
