BE A LEADER CLUBS: Empowering & Supporting, College Bound Students!
The Be A Leader Club is the foundations way of directly working with high school students to develop a network of college bound students through each campus. The clubs support and encourage their membership to actively participate in the monthly Be A Leader Institute High School workshops. Clubs provide students with meaningful opportunities to help them enhance their college-going journeys. The Be A Leader Club is a student-run club open to all students who express a desire to achieve a college education. It is a forum for members to network and discuss such college-going topics as financial aid, SAT/ACT preparation, and effective personal statements. Club members take part in various activities including college visits, career shadow days, and volunteer projects. In addition, they are encouraged to attend monthly BLIH workshops held at ASU’s downtown campus where they can interact with college student mentors.
We are a charter school serving a historically underserved area with a low income sociodemographic. They would benefit from any donations which might not otherwise be available to them as many do come from economically disadvantaged homes. For example, they need flashdrives to have access to their algebra books, but not all of the students can afford to buy one.
