SMC launches Match It! program, Quarles & Brady announced as first partner
Support My Club announces partnership with Quarles & Brady Law Firm
Phoenix, Arizona – April 2, 2014
Support My Club, a Phoenix-based nonprofit, launched its Match It! program on April 1 with their first partner, Quarles & Brady LLP. The program gives businesses the opportunity to enhance support to local high school clubs and teams by doubling a donor donation.
The announcement was made live Tuesday evening at Support My Club’s Spring Philanthropy Bar. Within an hour of the announcement, 12 items worth more than $500 were purchased from the Quarles & Brady partnership collection. The law firm will be matching items that provide “steps for future business success.” This includes requests such as memory cards for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), transportation fees for DECA Marketing competitions or courtroom clothes for Mock Trial clubs at participating high school throughout Arizona.
Nicole Stanton, Managing Partner, stated:
“Quarles & Brady has long been a supporter of education and organizations that enhance it, as we owe our present and future prosperity to a vibrant economy and the educated population that creates it. Quarles specifically stands behind Support My Club, which is innovative, entrepreneurial, and makes philanthropists of even the most modest donors, because every dollar makes a difference."
Partners choose an area of focus that best aligns with their giving mission and values, and a total budget. When a donor fulfills an item request online, their donation is doubled, helping the club or team reach their goals twice as fast. With the new Match It! Program, organizations can support specific areas and are also helping the greater Valley area. For every $100 worth of items a club or team receives, students perform one hour of community service, enabling a cycle of philanthropy within the community.
Support My Club, founded in 2012 by Amy Armstrong, connects the needs of public high school clubs and sports teams to online donors looking to make a difference. Donors can shop through the website to find specific items that speak to their interests. Like a wedding registry for clubs, the donor adds an item to their cart and makes a tax-deductible donation. The items are then delivered directly to the school. Support My Club has helped fulfill more than 1,060 items and students have performed over 300 hours of community service as a result of those donations.
